Wow - Where did May go??? The end of the school year was really busy. So much so, that I did not get those May socks finished. However, I have a good jump on June??? I have been reading a lot and getting ready to do the project list for the break (staining the deck and painting the bathroom). I am enjoying the TIE (Technology In Education) conference in Copper Mountain, then back for a week, then off to Florida for 13 days. I think I have had enough sock fun for the time being. No more sock KALs for a few months! I really want to investigate Cat Bhordi's magical knitting and finish the scarves on the loom and get to that Block project that was supposed to be presented in March.
Happy Summer everyone!

April Socks
Purple and silver, of course (rockies socks in progress). How do all those people already have April socks finished??? I just cast on for the 4th time and have things going. Of course, I was next to last in submitting March. . .
At least I was at a conference all day today and got some serious knit time during the keynote speech and while watching Bull Durham tonight(anyone sensing that baseball theme??)

March Socks and stuff
I have begun March Socks - toe up with the Magic Loop method. I love the circular needle as I am no longer dropping needles under the bleachers during soccer, color guard, winter percussion, etc. events. These socks seem to be going quickly. Just got to the heel, so we'll see.
I also have warp for 3 scarves on the loom. Want to get this off by the end of the month and have April's socks started as well as figuring out some "block" placemats for the loom. Seems like a lot to do, but I have Spring Break at the end of the month, so hopefully I can get some of this accomplished!

February Socks

I chose to do a lace pattern on #1 needles for my february pair. Socketta springy yarn in verigated greens. I really like the stripe and lace effects on these. The only downside is that these have turned out to be REALLY REALLY warm. It will be good for those snow days that are coming, but too much for today's 60 degree weather. I finished a lace weaving piece last weekend as well. I guess February was the month for lace. Now I have to figure out my March socks and what to get on the loom next.
Happy Leap Day

February Sock Panic
The sock is beautiful. However, I started knitting on the 26th of January and decided to do a lace pattern on #1 needles. The first sock finished February 17th. First sock took almost a month and now I have to do another one???? I've been knitting like a mad woman at night - 1-1/2" minimum every evening or I'm not gonna make it.

February Socks
It's the 4th of February and all of my good intentions to be really ahead of the socks are falling by the wayside. I have 4" of my first February sock done and I'm lucky if I can get 1" in an evening (I'm using a new pattern - lace and have 74 stitches on #1 needles). I love the socketta yarn I'm using - cotton with just enough rayon to make it stretchy. Between the socks, my two projects for my loom and the spinning, I'm not getting what I had planned done. We'll see how the rest of the week goes. I should be able to get a lot of sock time at the Caucas tomorrow!
Happy Monday!

Welcome

Both of the sites I now "belong" to have blog links, so I suppose it's time I get with the program so to speak. The stash refers to many things fiber related (yarn, roving, unfinished projects, weaving, etc.) and to books both read and unread that I own and seem to multiply at a rate similar to the yarn in the basement.
Currently I am reading On the Road (have a book group meeting on February 10th - so that's a deadline) and the Poe Question (hate it - I'm still on page 30 and tend to only pick it up when I'm really sleepy).
I have just cast on my second pair of socks (#1 needles, thank you very much) and I am going to do a lace pattern. I am working on designing a block structure to put on to my loom, a huck pattern for a table runner for some beautiful hand dyed yarn, and possibly a baby blanket (just got the invitation to the shower today).
Oh, one more thing - that's one of the three pumpkins I grew in my garden this summer.
Hopefully I'll have pictures of the hand dyed yarn, and a few of my things as I go along.
Carol
